Welcome to Auxerre! Saint Germain Abbey is one of the major heritage sites in the city of Auxerre. With more than 1600 years of history, the Saint-Germain Abbey has known how to cross the centuries to become the essential tourist site of the city. The abbey in virtual reality is an original way to visit the monastic site as it was in the 18th century. This walk allows, thanks to the reconstructions in computer-generated images, to discover spaces that have been destroyed today. During this walk, you will discover how the Abbey has evolved over the centuries to become today a major heritage site of the city of Auxerre. Orange and Rendr worked together to reconstruct the roof of the current Abbey forecourt in computer-generated images, before its destruction in 1811. A virtual reality experience to discover on site.
