Sent by the Directorate-General for Bridges, Roads and Mines – the body responsible for modernising France’s navigable waterways – your mission is to check that the Seven Locks are functioning correctly. During this tour, discover the secrets of an extraordinary piece of engineering: you’ll uncover the curse that hung over the construction of the seven locks, the astonishing reason why Rogny once was home to almost as many donkeys as people, and the genius behind an architectural masterpiece designed on a king’s scale.
